Welcome to Let’s Talk Lexi

At the core of Let’s Talk Lexi, I am a passionate person who wants to change the way we all think and act about mental health. Through sharing my stories, calling out stigma and discrimination and helping others to talk about mental health, I am using my own experiences to change the way we view the attitudes and behaviour of a nation.

After spending a month abroad in Ireland during her Bachelor of Communication degree from Mount Royal University, Lexi fell in love with storytelling. In 2017, she was awarded the Canadian Association of Journalism Student Excellence Award for her work on collaboration investigative journalism project, Closing Midfield. She also received the 2018 Emerge Media Award which recognized her photography on the Closing Midfield project.

Lexi is passionate about how the media can responsibly cover mental health. She has worked on various communications campaigns including the 2017 Entrepreneurs of Alberta campaign with ATB Financial and created compelling multimedia projects for the Red Deer Public School District. Lexi is currently studying for her Master of Digital Media degree at Ryerson University in Toronto, Ontario.

When she is not writing or studying, Lexi can be found reading Paulo Coelho novels, sipping iced coffee or researching the best place to shop for lavender room spray.
